Who we are

Eval4change is a Paris-based consultancy specialising in evaluation, impact studies, capitalization and strategic support. We work with NGOs and civil society organisations, networks and collectives, ministries, cooperation agencies and development finance institutions, in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe.

We rely on a network of independent consultants with complementary experience, in France and in the countries where we work. Involving national consultants in our assignments is a given for us: their knowledge of contexts, languages and stakeholders is essential to the quality and relevance of our analyses.

Ours is a supporting role. We co-construct our approaches with teams and stakeholders, and we use participatory tools inspired by popular education that allow everyone to contribute to the analysis and take ownership of the findings.

What we do

Our five areas of work feed into one another: an evaluation informs a capitalization process, an impact study sheds light on a strategic choice, and a gender approach runs through all our assignments.

Evaluation

Useful, change-oriented evaluations that inform decisions and support learning for teams, their partners and their funders.

Capitalization

Identifying, analysing and sharing knowledge drawn from experience, so that practices that work can inspire others and spread.

Learn more

Impact studies

Learn more

Strategy and organisational development

Supporting organisations in developing their strategy, reviewing their socio-economic model and transforming the way they work.

Learn more

Gender-responsive approach

An in-depth analysis of power relations and inequalities, from diagnosis to indicators, at the heart of our work.

How we work

Whatever the assignment, six principles guide the way we work with organisations and with the people we meet.

Tailor-made approaches

We design each methodology around the organisation’s own challenges, needs and context.

Co-construction

We involve stakeholders at every stage, from inception to recommendations.

Situated knowledge

We value the knowledge of those who live the realities on the ground and drive change.

Power to act

We use popular education tools that strengthen the ability of people and organisations to act for themselves.

Attention to inequalities

We analyse how patriarchy, colonial legacies, and the place given to young people or to disability shape access to rights and resources.

Relationships of trust

We work in a spirit of listening, respect and horizontality, within our teams and with our partners.
